education summit
Tinian will be holding the public education summit on Wednesday, August 4, 1999, in the island municipality which is aimed at informing the community of the challenges confronting the public education sector.
According to organizers, the conference also hopes to share with parents information regarding the Public School System, the program it offers as well as its state, and how can parents contribute to the education process.
The day-long summit is tentatively set to begin at 7:30 AM at the Tinian High School cafeteria.
Hawaii’s funny man
on Saipan
A master of spoof and witty parody, Hawaii’s popular comedian Frank DeLima will arrive on Saipan for a one–day performance on July 22, 1999 at diamond Hotel.
Sponsored by Miller Lite, DeLima will hold two shows at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM with tickets at $12.50.
DeLima’s comedy show is a fresh, witty revue using musical parodies to poke fun at today’s topics, fads, attitudes and people.
His popularity in Hawaii is due not only to the fact that he is genuinely funny, but also because he produces a completely new show every year to keep his material fresh and current.
Tickets are available at all Shell stations and at IT&E in San Jose.
