LITTLE LEAGUE UPDATE
The Philippines demolished Guam 16-1 in yesterday’s first game of the Little League Far East Tournament on Rota. The Philippines scored in the first inning on a double by Francis Fuentes that brought home Martinez Janry. Fuentes himself scored on a single by Prince Valencia.
In the second inning, RP scored on error with the bases loaded. Three more runs were logged in the second via home run from Dion Romel.
The Philippines score once more before the inning is over on a single by J. Sembran that brought home Valencia. The Philippine team added eight more runs in the third off home runs by Daniel Geroche and Andy Britania.
Guam’s only run cam by way of four consecutive walks issued by RP’s pitcher Fuentes in the fourth inning that brought home Willie Macwelung.
In the second game, Japan blanked the CNMI 15-0. Japan scored seven runs in the 2nd inning off wild pitches by local pitcher Daryl Ada and a hit by K. Sumiyama.
Japan exploded once again with eight more runs off home runs by Adachi and Masato Ikeda in the third. Both games were terminated in the fourth by way of the ten run rules.
