Waste of taxpayer's money

I read with astonishment the Tribune's column "From the Court" regarding our esteemed Attorney Ted Mitchells' case against Mogambo in the incident involving himself pushing and injuring Attorney James Grizzard in 1993.

I read with astonishment the Tribune’s column “From the Court” regarding our esteemed Attorney Ted Mitchells’ case against Mogambo in the incident involving himself pushing and injuring Attorney James Grizzard in 1993.

I am appalled by our court system, which has actually allowed a cigarette machine to be dragged into court. In fact, I can’t believe that this case is actually being heard.

While Mr. Mitchell is now pursuing financial claims for his livelihood against the owner of the machine, I want to know if our judge will allow rationality and common sense to enter into this matter. If the court allows Mr. Mitchell to drag this cigarette machine into court as evidence, the court should also require for Mr.
Mitchell to be in the same precarious situation, a state of obnoxious drunkenness, that he was in when he assaulted Mr. Grizzard. Let the jury see his condition then and now. As they say, an eye for an eye. I wonder who was more hazardous in this case, the machine standing alone in a corner waiting for a customer or Mr. Mitchell?

No local business would wish to see Mr. Mitchell in any of their establishment. They would be afraid that he would push another customer causing intentional injury and then he would be afraid that he would push another customer causing intentional injury and then he would turn around and sue the owner.

What judicial system are we practicing here? What is the CNMI Bar Association doing? Let’s get real and stop this malicious harassment and waste of taxpayer’s money.
