MVA lines up activities for September

Dubbed as Plumeria Dreams, the Marianas Visitors Authority has lined up a series of activities from September 9-11, 1999. A special package for $99 will be sold by travel and tour agents as optional tours beginning on Sept. 6, 1999.

A photo exhibit will be held on Sept. 9, 1999 which opens at 10:00 am at DFS Galleria. The exhibit will feature the entries in the underwater and flame tree photo contest. Winners will be announced on that day.

At 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, a VIP Dinner Party at Hard Rock Cafe will be held where Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio will join MVA in honoring CNMI’s Honorary Tourism Ambassadors and members of the tourism industry with a full buffet dinner and cocktail service.

On Sept. 10, 1999, a Reggae Concert at the American Memorial Park will be he held from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm featuring Reggae bands from Saipan, Los Angeles and Hawaii. Separate concert tickets are available to all tourism industry professionals and the general public.

On Sept. 11, 1999, attend an island wedding fashion show at Hotel Nikko Theater Hall from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm featuring selections from Saipan-based boutiques and shops with models from the CNMI Miss Universe Beauty Pageant Association.

If you’re a golf enthusiast, then you might want to join the golf skills contest at Kingfisher Golf Links beginning 2:00 pm. Prizes will be given away for longest drive, closest to the pin and best putting.
