The new global menace

There is a Communist in the U.S. State Department. No, this is not the 1950s, and I am not Senator Joseph McCarthy. But a new breed of Commie has infiltrated the U.S. State Department. His name is Strobe Talbott, and he is the Deputy Secretary of State.

According to the 26 September Drudge Report, Mr. Talbott believes that America will no longer exist in th 21st Century, at least not in its present form. It will no longer be sovereign and independent. It will, instead, be subject to “a single, global authority,” suggests Mr. Talbott.

Clinton’s man in the State Department wants all states to be subject to one centralized governmental authority, not just the United States. Nation states will become “obsolete,” he firmly maintains.

Indeed, the signs of this wicked design are already widespread. A United Nations spokesman on CNN recently stated that the UN “will not allow states to hide behind their sovereignty.” The United Nations is already calling for global gun control. President Clinton has even pledged to forgive third world debt (even though it was
never his money to give or forgive).

Representative democracy, state sovereignty, independence, local self-government, democracy, and liberty itself are all under vicious attack. For the United Nations to openly state that nations will no longer be allowed “to hide behind their sovereignty”–this is an outrage.

It’s like saying, “The federal government will no longer allow individuals to hide behind their rights.” Even convicted criminals have rights. The next thing we know, someone will start proclaiming that criminals will no longer be allowed to hide behind the 5th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. Suspected citizens will no longer be allowed to “hide behind” illegal search and seizure laws or probable cause. (The highly intrusive war on the drugs has already eroded much of our vital freedoms.)

Make no mistake about it: One World United Nations Internationalism is the new global menace, the new Communism–the single greatest threat to human freedom since the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union. We see it today in Bosnia, in East Timor, everywhere the United Nations usurp its authority and rape state sovereignty. The United Nations have made an absolute mockery of the fundamental doctrine of sovereign immunity. And the U.S State Department, the Clinton administration and the IMF are all facilitating this tremendous threat to liberty.

We must return to good old-fashioned common sense. We should not believe that the United States, through the UN or other international governing body, has a duty to violate the sovereignty of other nations, even if it is to protect natural individual rights, particularly if we are paying for it as taxpayers, since that would, of course, naturally entail the violation of our inalienable private property rights. (Billions were squandered–siphoned off toward corruption–in Russia and Bosnia.)

Furthermore, such interventions are clearly unconstitutional. The United States government has a constitutional obligation to uphold the rights of its citizens. It does not, however, have a prima facie duty to protect every person in the world at the expense of its taxpaying citizens.

We are citizen of the United States. We have no social contract with the people of East Timor–no duty to protect them at our expense. The elitists at the U.N. are advancing both taxation and regulation without representation. Even America’s leaders no longer represent the American people. They have become new global Communists.
