Jollibee chooses Herman’s Bakery
Herman’s Modern Bakery, a local business now celebrating its 55th anniversary on Saipan, has been selected to provide baked goods for the new Jollibee restaurant set to open its first restaurant in CNMI next month.
A favorite fast food chain in the Philippines, Jollibee will open in the former location of the Liberty Plaza Department Store next to Kristo Rai Church in Garapan, according YCO Corporation, which owns the territorial franchise for the popular international chain.
Gil A. Salvosa, the quality assurance manager for Jollibee, said Herman’s was chosen due to its reputation for high quality products.
“Jollibee is known for its quality products and we want that same type of quality on Saipan,” he said. “Herman’s and Jollibee are working very hard to refine the baked goods mixes to keep the taste as true to the original as possible.”
According to Herman’s Modern Bakery president Juan T. Guerrero, recent equipment upgrades and facility refurbishing at the bakery’s Airport Road facility have given Herman’s additional capacity needed to meet the increased production demands.
Herman’s will be producing hamburger buns, dinner rolls and baked desserts for the Jollibee Restaurant, as it does for other leading fast food chains on the island.
“We’re celebrating our anniversary this year and at the same time, Herman’s is focusing on the future,” said Guerrero. “We want to continue to be a leader in the baking industry, so we’re improving operations and our facility in ways which will please customers, maintain high quality standards and also capture the warm and welcoming feeling which we’d like people to have about our bakery.”
Jollibee is a fast-growing international chain offering their famous crispy marinated “Chickenjoy”, spaghetti, hamburgers and other popular dishes.
It currently has 350 restaurants around the world, including 320 in the Philippines.
The new store on Saipan will be Jollibee’s 30th branch outside the Philippines.
