Not all by Californians
While I sympathize with the points Ed Stephens was trying to make about too much government in California, he is incorrect in labeling those who make many of these laws as “Californians.”
Most of those he rightly complains about are carpetbaggers from the East coast who bring their cramped, lousy lifestyles with them. As a native born Californian, I and others like me are overjoyed when these people leave. The free living California of my long lost youth is gone forever, in large part to these overzealous nutcases.
Of course, I suppose the Spanish, Mexicans and before them the native California Indians thought the same about us Americanos when we came to what used to be lovingly called the Golden State.
