The culmination of activities undertaken throughout the month of October in observance of the Domestic and Family Violence Awareness Month is the annual candlelight vigil.

The vigil, which also serves as the signature closing event, will take place today. Going on its fifth year, the event will be held at the Minatchom Atdao at Kilili Beach Park and will begin at 6:00 p.m..

The vigil is an opportunity for all CNMI citizens to show their support towards the eradication and prevention of family violence in the community and to give a voice to the countless victims whose voices have been rendered silent by violence.

Tonight, the winners of the speech and poster contest will be awarded. There will also be door prizes and light refreshments following the short program.
