Don't let those fruits go to waste: Learn to make homemade jam
Have you ever wished that you could make homemade jam? Well, we have a great class for you. Learn how to save those extra fruits from going to waste
The Family and Consumer Sciences staff of the NMC Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Service at Northern Marianas College will be holding a mini-workshop on making jam for the holidays.
Two sessions offered:
• Saturday, December 4th from 9:00 a.m..-12:00 p.m., and
• Saturday, December 11th from 9:00 a.m..-12:OO p.m.
Topics include:
• Getting started – what do I need?
• Canning basics
• Food Safety with regard to canning practices
• Regular and no sugar recipes for canning
The free workshop will include classroom teaching and hands on training. Emphasis will be placed on using locally grown fruits for canning and saving money in the process.
Class size is limited to 12 participants per session, so call early to reserve.
