GTE trounces Mark Shark 79-69
GTE Pacifica defeated Mark Shark/Budweiser 79-69 last Wednesday night at the Ada Gym in the first game of the double header. The Sharks were ahead 38-31 going into half time. With the leadership of Coach Sonny Flores, the Sharks team executed their offense effectively despite protests from GTE Pacifica team that caused them technical fouls.
But GTE Pacifica, relying on their experience and height advantage, rallied to comeback in the second-half to even the score are 38.
Gus Palacios had 16 points followed by veteran players Ray ‘The Enforcer” Lizama and Edsel Mendoza with 15 points each for the Mark Shark/Budweiser.
GTE Pacifica had 22 points chipped in by Mark Walace and 21 points from Keith Gardner.
The second game between San Vicente Sunrisers, which is sponsored by Rep. Ana Teregeyo, outscored Diamond Auto Care Team of Reps. Diego T. Benavente and Oscar Babauta 99-74.
Sunrisers Scott and younger brother George Masga had 18 points apiece to lead the winners. Julian Villar and Jawn Joyner supported Scott and George with 16 points apiece. It was all Sunrisers all the way.
Diamond Auto Care had 21 points from Fernando Muleta and 13 points from Bernard Montano.
