Sobriety checkpoint
The Department of Public Safety will conduct saturation patrols and set up DUI sobriety checkpoint this weekend.
The checkpoint aims to deter violators of CNMI traffic laws.

Christmas concert
Continuing a long holiday tradition, the Friends of the Arts is sponsoring two holiday concerts featuring the community’s local talent. A brand new element in this year’s performances will be selections by the Saipan Children’s Choir, the Pacific Winds brass and woodwind ensemble and that old favorite, the Saipan Chorale. To make the holidays even more special, there will be some surprise performers.
The two scheduled performances will be at Kristo Rai Church in Garapan on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 7:00 p.m. and then at the SDA Center in Chalan Laulau on Sunday, Dec. 12, also at 7:00 p.m.
Admission is free.
Ncees examination
The Board of Professional Licensing wishes to inform the general public that it would be giving the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (ncees) principles and practice of engineering examination (civil, structural, electrical and mechanical) and professional land surveying examination on April 14, 2000, and the fundamentals of engineering (FE) and fundamentals of land surveying examination on April 15,2000.
Applications must se submitted to the board no later than Jan. 1, 2000.

Koblerville school meeting
The Koblerville Elementary School is calling parents and members of the community to attend a special meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999 at 6:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Topics to be discussed include progress report and the action plan for 2000-2003. There will be a raffle, rummage sale and refreshments.
