The National Triple D, the Division of Mental Health, G.I.G, and Pepsi the Joy of Cola will be sponsoring the first Youth New Year’s Dance open to all high school students ages 14-19.

This will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Doors will be opened beginning 6:30 p.m., however, the press release did not say where the venue is. Ticket sales start at 5:30 p.m.

The concept of this dance is to provide a dry block party for the youth, incorporate a sober environment that is safe and fun, educate them on the effects of drinking, driving under the influence, and peer pressure, and to promote designated drivers.

There will be a $10.00 entrance fee that will include food, five tickets for non-alcoholic drinks and grab bags that contain promo items and health information kit. There will be prizes from PIC, DFS, Tinian Dynasty, and many more.

All high school students are encouraged to participate in this fun-filled event for a safe and sober 2000.

For more information, please call the Division of Mental Health at 323-6560.
