Hyatt to draw winners in sweepstakes
Signaling the close of its “Children of the World Sweepstakes,” the Hyatt Regency Saipan yesterday announced that the last day to purchase tickets for the contest is Friday, Dec. 31, 1999.
To fulfill their commitment to the fundraising goals of helping the children of the world and local charities, Hyatt hosted the contest, which offers opportunities for residents and visitors to the CNMI to win fabulous prizes.
With the purchase of a $10 ticket, anyone who contributes to the charity sweepstakes will have a chance to win a 1999 Volkswagen Bug automobile, roundtrip tickets and Hyatt stays, among other exciting prices. Through this Friday, tickets can be purchased individually or in booklets of 6 for $50 through the hotel’s front desk.
“This promotion was our way of starting the new millennium by helping the children of the future,” said Hyatt Regency Saipan general manager Mustafa Issa. “This promotion was developed by our staff to raise money for Hyatt International’s children’s charity projects, as well as our own Commonwealth Health Center Volunteers’ Association (CHCVA). We are very pleased that Hyatt International recently announced that all of the funds we raise will stay in the CNMI to help the local community, including improving the Pediatrics Ward at our hospital.”
The drawing for the sweepstakes will be open to the public and officiated by Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio, House Speaker Diego Benavente and other local personalities. It will be held in the Gilligan’s Entertainment Center at Hyatt Regency Saipan at 11:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Saturday.
In addition to the Volkswagen Bug, prizes include roundtrip airline tickets and overnight hotel accommodations to such places as Bali, Hong Kong Japan, Guam and Saipan. The grand prize vehicle, a special purchase from Triple J Motors, is currently displayed in the hotel’s lobby in Garapan It has a retail value of more than $28,000.
