Court suspends jail time for Tsoi
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, so they say.
Yesterday, Tatiana Nakkirovna Tsoi, who stormed the house of Judge Juan T. Lizama last month, pled guilty to charges of assault and battery filed by the Attorney General’s Office.
It will be recalled that Ms. Tsoi, a Russian citizen, made a scene in the neighborhood of Judge Lizama on the wee hours of Dec. 2, 1999 and demanded to see him. She kicked the door and screamed until the police arrived to arrest her for disturbing the peace.
Initially, the AGO filed two counts of assault and battery and one count each of disturbing the peace and obstructing justice against Ms. Tsoi, but under the plea agreement entered into by the two parties, the three other charges were dropped.
Associate Judge Timothy Bellas suspended the one year sentenced and placed her on probation. She was ordered to pay $1,000 in fine.
Ms. Tsoi, who is expected to leave the island soon, was ordered to undergo counseling to find out whether she should participate in alcohol and anger related management.
Ms. Tsoi’s arrest was based on the complaint lodged by Judge Lizama who called up 911 to report that his former girlfriend was in his San Vicente residence disturbing the peace. When the police came, an angry Ms. Tsoi kicked and bit Officer Norman Suda. (LFR)
