Discussions are now underway to make Garapan Street Market a long-term project of the Marianas Visitors Authority, as part of government effort to perk up arrivals into the Northern Marianas.

At the same time, organizers of the Garapan Street Market pointed out that they have originally planned to continue with the holding of the project, which is ongoing every Thursday night from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, even beyond the holiday season.

“There is a misconception that the Market was only for the holiday season, when in reality we are planning the long term production of this project,” said committee on promotion and marketing Chairman Jack Hardy.

Mr. Hardy stressed that the Garapan Street Market is held weekly and is ongoing, family-oriented, and drug and alcohol-free.

Tonight’s Garapan Street Market will highlight performances by the Pacific Waves, Night Rhythm, Te Kanahui Nui, Pennina Ole Vasa and Maggie Naputi with Larson.
