CNMI Cursillos to hold 6th Women’s Encounter
The CNMI Cursillos is finalizing preparations for the 6th Women’s Cursillo Weekend which will be held at the Maturana House of Prayer from February 18 to 20, 2000, according to Secretariat President Bro. Ben Seman.
According to Mr. Seman, the CNMI Cursillos will also hold the weekend retreat for men from May 26 to 28, 2000.
In keeping with the theme Cursillos in Christianity: The Spirit for the New Millennium, Mr. Seman said the movement will intensify its effort to continue spreading the “good news” around the Northern Mariana Islands.
“The movement will certainly make every effort to continue do the work that each cursillista has been called to do in bringing God’s children back to His Church,” he said.
Northstar, official publication of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa, reported that the Cursillo Movement hopes to identify the environments that need evangelization, then prepare candidates for the next encounter.
Aside from carrying out evangelization, Mr. Seman said cursillistas can also be seen doing other apostolic work through songs and praise, or even assisting parish activities, as well as visiting the sick at homes and the hospital.
The CNMI Cursillo Movement, which is under the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa with Bro. Fr. Manuel Corcuera as Spiritual Director and Fr. Rolly Petronio as Assistant Spiritual Director, is inviting interested individuals to join the retreat.
In September 1999, cursillistas from the CNMI participated in the 13th Asia Pacific encounter.
