Taking the GRE?

The paper-based version of the Graduate Record Exam – General Test will be administered at Northern Marianas College, Saipan Campus, on Saturday, March 4, 2000. If you are interested in taking the test on Saipan anytime soon, please plan to take it on this date. The only other administration of the GRE this year will be on Nov. 4, 2000.

Arrangements can also be made with the Sylvan Technology Center on Guam for the computer-based version of this test by appointment. Contact Marie Nelson at (671) 477-0700, e-mail sylvangu@ite.net, for further information.

Information and registration bulletin for the GRE 1999-2000 are available at the NMC Counseling Center. Please pay attention to the insert, “Supplement to the 1999-2000 GRE Information and Registration Bulletin.” As stated in the supplement, there is no preregistration for the paper-based general test.

Registration forms will be given on the day of the test and must be filled out completely. The test fee is $125 payable, to ETS-GRE. The following are acceptable forms of payment: personal check, money order, cashier’s check, and credit card. Cash is not acceptable.

Applicants are required to bring a photo ID, preferably a valid passport or driver’s license, and two No. 2 pencils with erasers. The test procedures will be the same as stated in the Bulletin, except for the on-site registration and payment of fees on the day of the test.

Those who are taking the exams must report to NMC, Saipan Campus, Building A by 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2000, to complete the registration process. Testing will begin at 8:30 a.m.
