NFL holds inter- school speech competition
Close to 150 students participated in the National Forensic League-sponsored inter-school speech competition at the Calvary Christian Academy last Sunday.
Students representing various public and private high schools in the Northern Marianas competed in 12 events.
The events include team debate, one-on-one debate, original oratory, extemporaneous speech, dramatic interpretation, humorous interpretation, duo interpretation, expository speech, extemporaneous commentary, impromptu speech, poetry reading, and prose reading.
The top three contestants in the competition are:
* Poetry-A: MBA, MBA, CCA
* Poetry-B: GCA, THS, MBA
* Original Oratory: MBA, MBA, GCA
* Expository: MHS, MHS, MBA
* Impromptu: MHS, THS, MBA
* Prose: MBA, MCS, THS
* Dramatic Interpretation: MCS, THS, THS
* Humorous Interpretation: MHS, MHS, MHS
* Duo Interpretation: MHS, MVA, CCA
* Extemporaneous Speech: MCS, MHS
* Extemporaneous Commentary: MBA, MCS, MBA
* L/D Debate: MHS, MHS, THS
* CX Debate: MHS, MBA, CCA
