They will try to regroup and look for that elusive first win next week against Len’s Junk.

Len’s Junk followed up their impressive win last week with a tough loss to the Fresh Spring Rolls. All three sets were decided by three points or less. Once again, Doug Mauro put on a serving clinic.

“He was baffling us with those wacko sky serves,” said Jon Cramer, “but we [maintained] our composure and pulled off the victory.”

Youngster Rannel Calexterio had his best game to date for FSR. Calexterio blocked Mauro and came up with several crucial shots and serves. Alan “Fence” Buchanan came up with some big ups again, but wasn’t able to finish like he had the week before for Len’s Junk.

The next game was also a tight one. No Fear lost their unbeaten status by going down to the Hot 98sters (11-9, 10-12,,12-10). Patrick Pua was huge for No Fear. He hammered some balls early that seemed to take some steam out of the 98sters.

“They were hitting hard, but we stuck to our game plan and it paid off. I really gotta hand it to my team for sticking it out and it their all,” commented Searay Beltran of his team’s performance.

Ryan Stewart pounded a few balls of his own off of some awesome setting from Heather Kennedy.

Tyce Mister led his Coffee Care team to their third victory over a sliding Managaha team. Power blocker Will “Bamboo” McCue had called into SportsRock radio show to tell the world how Managaha would stomp Coffee Care. McCue’s plans were derailed by a stellar performance by Sean Frink at setter and some tenacious defense by Coffee Care.

“We got outplayed but I had a heck of a good time,” slurred Bamboo as he headed back to the drawing board for next week’s match against league leading G-Money & Crew.
