RP Consulate opens for weekend tax filers
The Philippine Consulate has recently announced that it will open its office this coming weekend, April 15 and 16, to accommodate the expected large number of Filipino workers who will file their Philippine Income Tax Returns before the deadline on Monday, April 17, 2000. Office hours on April 17 will also be extended until 8:00 p.m.

Consul Julia C. Heidemann noted that most Filipino workers are only free on weekends which is the only available time for them to attend to their personal needs. For this reason, she said, the Consulate will open its doors from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tax returns will be accepted at the lobby of the Nauru Building in Susupe.
