Independence Day chess tournament

The CNMI Chess Association, Inc. (CCA) and United Filipino Organization (UFO), in celebration of Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2000, encourage all chess enthusiasts in the CNMI to participate in the Philippine Independence Day/UFO Chess Team Tournament.

Chess team tournament is tentatively scheduled to start on April 30, 2000 until the day of the celebration. The tournament will be held at Nauru Building in Susupe every Sunday from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Entry fee is $100.00 for each team of six players –– three adult players, one youth player, and two alternate players –– to complete the lineup. Time control for each player is one hour and 10 minutes per game.

Chess team tournament is one of the sport events organized by UFO and assisted by CCA.
