Last week the NMC School of Education College Lab School students were honored with a Plaque of Recognition from the Division of Environmental Quality for adopting and keeping Ladder Beach clean. This week, after the total collection for the Children’s Campaign: Penny Drive 2000 at NMC was counted, the awesome College Lab School students accounted for 23.71% or $155.33 of the total amount collected ($655.00). The College Lab School students collected and contributed just 1.29% shy of 25% of the total amount collected by Northern Marianas College during the Penny Drive 2000.

One little child asked, “Sir, do you have 25 cents you can spare?” Now, that would do in any seasoned veteran. You have to be clever and courageous to get out of that.

True everywhere, the children’s power are indeed a force that simply cannot be ignored. They strike deep into the heart. One must possess extraordinary gumption to refuse a child’s call for help.

NMC President Jack Sablan lauded students, teachers and staff of the college for their efforts to make the Penny Drive 2000 a success.
