Reminder to IVYBL participants
The Organizers of the 4th Islandwide Village Youth Basketball League (IVYBL) is reminding all teams enrolled in the upcoming IVYBL Summer League to start submitting the necessary documents (i.e. copies of birth certificates passports, waiver forms, and the $6.00 insurance fee per player) to the office of Sports and Recreation at the Gilbert. C. Ada gymnasium. This is necessary to avoid delays in preparation for the opening of the league scheduled for June 12, 2000.
Eleven teams have confirmed their participation and will be competing for the coveted title including the past three league champs, San Antonio Sixers, Tanapag, and defending champions Gualo Rai Panthers.
Runner-up twice in the last two seasons, the Chalan Kanoa Hoosiers, are expected to be back for another title shot at the elusive crown.
The other teams in the league are the San Vicente Suns, Kagman Cougars, Dandan Wolves, a team from Garapan, and the DARE Program which is fielding three teams for this league.
Games will be played throughout the villages every night from Monday to Friday starting at 6:30 p.m. Rained out games will be played on Saturday of each respective week.
