Triumphant Tagaman
As president of the Taga Inc., the organizing body of the Tagaman Triathlon, I would like to thank the entire community for their support in making the 11th Tagaman Triathlon successful.
Several of the athletes were world-class and well traveled, and will be participating in the Iron Man Triathlon in Hawaii, and other international events, and this hospitality will be remembered everywhere they go. Many commented it was the best run event they ever attended.
I cannot mention all the 400 plus volunteers by name, but I do want you to know your assistance was truly appreciated. Thanks are due my committee JM Guerrero and his staff, Wolf Mojica and Yoichi Matsumara. Thank you Continental Airlines for being extremely supportive and MVA for their continued help. I think the CHC and Saipan Health Clinic volunteers did an outstanding job, along with the Department of Public Safety and Public Works, the Amateur Radio Club of Saipan, NM Diving Operators and the Saipan Swim Club, Tropical Leisure Marine and PDI. Thank you ESPN for Bill Campbell and Curt Klemstein, and Jack Hardy for taking photos and Sakamoto-san of Seashore Bike Shop along with Kingyo-san, the bike technician from ATC.
All triathletes commented on the friendly and helpful support from the Aid Stations; 3.S, DFS, Athletes Foot, First Hawaiian Bank, Deloitte Touche, & Komatsu, IT&E, Pacificare, Microl Corp., MTC, Saipan Diamond Hotel, Pacific Islands Club, PCI Communications, Red Cross, Hyatt Regency and the Hafa Adai Beach Hotel, thank you.
Also, many thanks to our coordinators at the different stations, Bob Winkfield, Stan Good, Ely Wong, Bobbie Grizzard and Mike Villagomez and Takemura-san, Kenny McKinney, David Creel and Jun Mercado, Diego Kaipat, and Lou Wabol, and to those who helped from overseas.
I especially want to thank the ATC Triathlon Club for their expertise on running the event, since the first Tagaman, and KFC Triathlon Club for promoting the event.
To everyone else who helped, contributed and in any way supported the event, THANK YOU, and, an even bigger thank you to all triathletes who participated in the Tagaman Triathlon.
