Strike zone
Thank you, for it is time that the ever concerned parent wakes up after a series of concerned parents of 2000 letters go around unsigned like Jane Doe.
First of all Mrs. Josephine Aguon, in your letter to the editor, you are probably not watching all of the games played at the San Vicente Ball Field and the Palacios Field. You are present only when your husband’s team is playing which is the reason that you talk about managers, coaches and sponsors never being recognized. You must have forgotten a lot and let me simply tell you what is the program all about Mrs. Aguon.
First, you are not a parent or a coach. You are just a bandwagon because your husband is managing a team. I do not have the time to explain to you about subsistence because like I said, you are not a short stopper, a first base lady nor a utility infielder or outfielder.
The last four years, the Little League program in our district was very successful because every year, we have developed new programs and many volunteers are participating, for your information.
The League is over and let me refresh your memory as I, the Board of Directors as well as the District Auxiliary Staff are busy preparing for the up coming District Tournament to be held here next week and the Far-East Tournament in Guam in the middle part of July. By the way, come over to the ball field and witness these young talented players and we will definitely announce and recognize the managers, head coaches and assistant coaches of all the teams in this prestigious tournament.
I am 35 years old and I am not scared to face any parent besides you because you are not a parent in this program. You are just a concerned outfielder and bench warmer.
We have just concluded our All-Star parents meeting and it was very interesting and exciting. I enjoyed observing a well organized meeting conducted by each division’s commissioner and director. I was upset because you did not attend these meetings to hear about the explanation of subsistence allowance story.
Mrs. Aguon, representing the 28 other parents from the Little League Division, what does big players mean? Are you also representing the Major Leaguer’s? I give you credit and commend you for representing them and maybe without their knowledge, again. I personally never see you in any board meeting or functions and I am proud that our great Marianas Stars are more than ready for the up coming tournament. And as representative to these 28 parents, identify your roles and responsibilities. Is it strictly fund raising for you and a few of the concerned parents? Get your strike zone accurate and if you need to know about strike zones, check with my best friend and mentor Mr. Mariano Taitano to assist you in terms of locating the best pitch. Wild pitches are catchable and it all depends on who is behind the plate, either you or me.
