How do you protect your family during typhoon?

Be prepared.

Here are some tips in preparing your own disaster supplies kit:

1) Store water in plastic containers, at least one gallon per person per day. Avoid using containers that will decompose or break. Keep at least a three-day supply of water for each person in your household.

2) Store at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food. Select food that requires no refrigeration, preparation or cooking and little or no water such as ready-to-eat canned goods. Include staples and high-energy food in your supplies.

3) Assemble a first aid kit for your home and one for each car. Make sure you have enough supplies of medicine if you are taking medication on a regular basis.

4) Other disaster supplies to be included in your kit are:

a) Radio and extra batteries

b) Flashlight and extra batteries

c) Mess kit, or paper cups, plates, plastic
utensils and plastic wraps or aluminum foil

d) Non-electric can opener or utility knife.

e) Toiletries

f) Include at least one complete change of clothing and footwear per person.

5) Store your disaster supplies kit in a place that is most unlikely to be affected

6) Re-check your supplies at least every six months.
