MVA holds membership meeting today
The Marianas Visitors Authority will hold its first membership meeting of the year on tomorrow, June 29, 2000, at 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Saipan Diamond Hotel. The purpose of the meeting is to elect the new set of board of directors coming from the private sector.
This will be a “no-host” luncheon and members are requested to pay $12.00 at the door.
The MVA members, consisting of 160 companies from the tourism and travel industry, are requested to attend the meeting which will feature remarks from Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio, MVA Board Chair David M. Sablan, and the election of four members to the MVA Board of Directors.
The nominees to the MVA board include incumbent members Roberta K. Guerrero, general manager of MITA Travel and chair for the Visit the Marianas ’99 Campaign; Kiyoshi Aikawa, general manager of Creative Tours, Saipan and member of the Japan Saipan Travel Association (JSTA); Michael Stiefel, general manager of Saipan Sunset Cruise; and, Mark Murai, general manager of Aqua Resort Club.
Other nominees are former Managing Director of the defunct Marianas Visitors Bureau JM Guerrero, president of JM & Associates; Ivan Quichocho, general manager for Continental Micronesia; Joseph Reyes, Tandem Skydive; Magdalena Camacho, Bank of Saipan; Min Hi Won, Pacific Management Inc.; Mustafa Issa, general manager of Hyatt Regency Saipan; Ray N. Yumul, YCO Corp.; Robert Hudkins, Hertz Rent-A-Car; Shinji Kikkawa, Saipan Diamond Hotel; and, Wendy Herring, Pacific Islands Club.
