Following a popular request to extend the 2000 Liberation Celebration, the Liberation Day Committee has announced that the carnival grounds at the American Memorial Park will be opened nightly until Sunday, July 9.

“The extension of the carnival gives the community more time to enjoy good food, games, rides, and entertainment,” said Agnes McPhetres, chairperson of the Liberation Day Committee.

The Committee also announced that the drawing for the Liberation Day raffle tickets has been postponed until 9:30 p.m. on July 8 at the Carnival grounds. Tickets are still being sold at the information booth, and the prizes include a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, $5,000 cash, and a cement mixer.
