Eco Adventure Camp Session 4 begins Monday
Eco Adventure Camp, an activity that features swimming, tennis, snorkeling, computers, arts and crafts, go karts, golf, baseball, music, and field trips, will begin its fourth session of the summer on Monday, July 24 at the Mariana Resort, organizers said.
“We have had an outstanding summer so far with great participation from the community” said Camp director Keirsten Hess. “We have had a few kids who have spent the whole summer with us and are still having a great time.”
The activities and field trips are changed in each session to keep the eco adventure lively and interesting for the kids.
Session 3 highlights include Polynesian dancing with Jessica Jordan, music with Denise Hewitt, a visit from the Department of Fish and Wildlife, a tour of the Canadian Navy Ship, and field trips to Managaha Island, Old Man by the Sea, and the Laderan Tangke Trail.
One of the keys to Eco Camp is the fact that the kids are separated by age group.
Each group of kids has activities and schedules that are tailor-made to their ages and abilities.
This means that those who are 14 and 15 year olds are doing activities that are very different than the other participants who belong to different age bracket. This allows organizers to keep everyone learning and interested throughout the session.
Eco Adventure Camp features drop off and pick up service, on line registration (www.ecocamp.mp), buffet lunch, computers with digital cameras, and a staff that comes from around the world.
“Our counselors are what really make the program work, we have five lifeguards, a lifeguard instructor, Infant CPR, First Aid, and CPR trained staff. Our counselors come from universities such as SDSU, James Madison, University of California, University of Hawaii, and Virginia Tech University. They have injected a wealth of knowledge and fun to the kids in our program,” added the eco camp organizer.
Eco Camp runs throughout the summer at the Mariana Resort. Sessions are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Eco Camp is priced at $85 for a one week session, or $150 for two weeks.
