Symposium to address teens' problems
Parents and teens come together beginning this Tuesday for one of the Commonwealth’s first two-day workshops targeted for teen troubles, and solutions to their mental and physical health.
The workshop will be held at Aqua Resort from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. starting today.
The symposium is sponsored by community groups such as the CNMI Food and Nutrition Council, the Division of Youth Services, the Public School System, the First Lady’s Foundation, Office of the women’s Affairs, the Department of Public Health.
Workshops include discussions by and for teens –– their eating habits and weight, cultural traditions and new peer pressure, depression, frustration, teen pregnancy, drug and alcohol use, family fights and family solutions relating to physical violence, and HIV/AIDS information.
Teens are encouraged to bring their parents or friends. Parents of teens not on island are also invited.
