Activities slated for Disaster Preparedness Week

The Emergency Management Office and participating agencies will have a series of events this week in conjunction with CNMI Disaster Preparedness Week from Sept. 26-29.

Particular disasters will be focused on each day in local schools.

Schedule:

Tuesday, Sept. 26

Typhoon, Thunderstorm and Lightning Preparedness

9:00 a.m. Proclamation signing for Disaster Preparedness Week, Governor’s Office with EMO, DPS, CHC, DEQ and the American Red Cross. EMO will distribute printed materials on preparedness.

Wednesday, Sept. 27

Fire and Earthquake Preparedness

2:00-4:00 p.m. Display of emergency response vehicles, Gilbert C. Ada gymnasium with EMO and DPS.

Thursday, Sept. 28

Flooding and Tsunami Preparedness

1:30 p.m. Hazardous material emergency response demonstration, Hopwood Jr. High School

Friday, Sept. 29

Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness
