The Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery Test is a required test for all persons ages 17-25 who plan to enlist in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. NMC’s Community Programs offers this preparatory class for those individuals who have the intent and desire to pursue a career with the U.S. Armed Forces.

An individual’s passing score has a direct effect on what type of job he or she chooses within the branches of the U.S. military. The opportunity to choose a variety of jobs is greater with a high test score. The actual test is composed of Reading Comprehension, Basic English, Mathematics and Simple Engineering.

This preparatory class scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at NMC’s Bldg. Y-2 is designed to review specific test components and provide tips on how to work through each type of problem. The class will also focus on improving test-taking skills, such as time management and intelligent guessing.

Since this is the first time NMC’s Community Programs has offered the ASVAB Preparatory class, this initial class is free for all persons ages 17-25 interested in taking this preparatory class. The upcoming actual ASVAB test is scheduled for Oct. 27th at MHS and Oct. 28th at the Army Reserve Center in Puerto Rico.

Space is limited, therefore those interested are encouraged to take advantage of this class and contact NMC’s Community Programs at 234-5498 ext. 1814/1815/2371/2372 to register for the preparatory class.
