Suva (Fiji’s Daily Post/PINA Nius Online) – The latest court appearance of Fiji coup leader George Speight and his group will be held in Nukulau Island tomorrow for security reasons.

Speight, who faces treason charges, and other alleged key supporters were scheduled to appear again at the Magistrates Court in Suva yesterday but authorities decided against it.

Officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, state prosecutors and the court agreed that it was best for the group to stay on the island, which is near the reef off Suva.

The decision was taken in light of Thursday’s insurrection at Fiji’s main military camp by members of the Counter Revolutionary Warfare Unit.
