Nat'l Geographic Bee competition on Dec. 1

For the 13th year, the National Geographic Society is holding the National Geographic Bee for students in the 4th through 8th grades in thousands of schools across the United States and in the five U.S. territories, as well as in Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world.

WHAT: First round of the 2001 National Geographic Bee

WHERE: Marianas Baptist Academy, Dandan

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 1, 2000 1:00-3:00 p.m.

HOW: For the 13th year, the National Geographic Society is holding the National Geographic Bee for students in the 4th through 8th grades in thousands of schools across the United States and in the five U.S. territories, as well as in Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world.

The winner of the Marianas Baptist Academy Bee will advance to the next level of competition, a written examination. All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, at the National competition on May 22 and 23 in Washington, D.C.
