NMC implements expanded registration
In an effort to make registering for college courses on Saipan, Tinian and Rota easier and more convenient, Northern Marianas College will begin implementing an expanded registration procedure beginning this Spring 2001 semester.
Instead of the usual five-day registration period, NMC has expanded registration to a full twelve-and-a-half (12-1/2) days for regular registration with one-and-a-half (1-1/2) days for late registration, including two half-days on Saturdays.
Academic advising is currently ongoing and all new and returning students must schedule an appointment to meet with their advisor as the first step in the registration process. Advisors will be able to inform students of their financial status with the College.
Any student with an outstanding financial obligation to NMC will be required to either settle the debt or sign a promissory note and set up a payment schedule. Payment schedules will be determined by a student’s ability to pay, and NMC is willing to stretch payments for past obligations up to a period of 12 months. All students planning to graduate at the end of the Spring 2001 semester must have cleared their outstanding obligations before they will be permitted to graduate. Likewise, students intending to transfer to another postsecondary institution must settle their financial obligations in order to have their official transcripts sent by NMC.
