Northern Marianas College’s Office of the President works hard to maintain good and responsible management and administrative leadership of the institution, and for carrying out the programs and policies set forth by the Board of Regents.

Under the direction of President Joaquin M. Sablan, Jr., the Office of the President leads and provides institutional direction in fulfilling NMC’s vision and mission to provide the best quality and meaningful postsecondary education in the CNMI.

The Office of the President consists of three functional administrative areas: the Office of Institutional Effectiveness; the Budget Office; and the Institutional Development Unit.

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) is an administrative support area responsible for the collection and evaluation of the College’s data and programmatic information. The goals of the OIE are to provide data analysis and information to the college community so that the different academic and administrative departments make effective decisions for the institution.

The OIE facilitates major planning and data gathering activities of the college such as monitoring student enrollment, reviewing the strategic master plan, and assessing institutional effectiveness.

Its main functions include the development and implementation of institutional research studies and surveys, statistical summaries on student enrollment and outcomes, assessments, analyses, the master plan, performance standards evaluations, and other reports.

The Budget Office facilitates budgeting, certification, reporting, and analysis of the College’s resources. This Office also guides the process of translating academic and administrative plans into a budget, develops reports for assessing actual performance against plans.

The Budget Office is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all fund sources attained by the College and the compilation of the college’s annual comprehensive budget proposals.

The Institutional Development Unit is responsible to expand the revenue generating capacity of the College and is currently comprised of three functional areas: Marketing and Public Relations, Public Radio Station KRNM, and the Grants Office.

The unit was established in July 1999 and its responsibilities include marketing, internal and external communications, public relations, fund raising, alumni relations, seeking public and private funding, and other institutional advancement strategies that contribute to the overall improvement of NMC’s educational programs and services.
