Need for larger vision
The Issue: The juvenile viewpoint of our fate in the seat of power known as Washington, D.C.
Our View: The NMI can’t chance leaving this issue in the sea of adolescent mathematics.
Recently, a resolution was introduced urging the governor not to sole-source the services of a lobbyist in Washington. If taken at face value, the intent is politically correct though awfully adolescent.
The author must revisit his own record as former helmsman of the government utility agency. He’s sole-sourced the purchase of materials, supplies and projects in his days. Now, he wants the prevention of sole-sourcing on a matter that requires full protection of the very essence of the Covenant Agreement.
Apparently, Senator Ramon S. Guerrero (Kumoi) has such short memory neglecting his own actions while in charge of CUC. Perhaps Senator Kumoi has awakened and now realizes the need to shop around for lobbyists on a competitive basis. It’s nothing more than an expression of what’s known as “foot in mouth”.
The magnitude of the issue, sir, is too important to leave in the hands of those with overblown and superficial pride. If per chance this matter hasn’t sunk into your nimble mind, never forget for a moment that the ruination of the Covenant Agreement upon which our people have placed their livelihood would be disastrous.
The person behind the grand success of the CNMI keeping the integrity of the Covenant Agreement intact is a true friend of these isles. If Senator Kumoi hasn’t learned to separate people from issues, now is the time to amend his New Year’s Resolution to include an all out effort learning how to learn separating people from issues.
Anything short of this is a tale that our illustrious Sen. Kumoi has a lot of growing up to do. Start today, sir! Learn to work with a larger vision ready to embrace a clearer glimpse of the vast forest and all its essence. Si Yuus Maase`!
