The Northern Marianas College Board of Regents recently moved to fill vacancies within the policy-making body by requesting Governor Pedro P. Tenorio to appoint two members to replace those who have left and unable to serve under the board.

After securing a medical certificate on the status of BOR Chair Ramon G. Villagomez’s health, the regents have decided to ask the local chief executive to terminate the former judge’s membership from the board panel.

The board is also seeking to replace former regent Manny Sablan who voluntarily stepped down from his post last year.

“We have already met with the Governor and asked him to expedite the appointment of two more members,” said Mr. Atalig yesterday.

Meanwhile, the regents may opt to discuss the election of its new set of BOR leadership during its first regular meeting for the year 2001 which will be held on Rota on Jan. 27.

Meanwhile, Mr. Atalig disclosed he may seek the chairmanship position.
