Chinese man stabbed
Police are investigating a mauling incident near the Afetnas area Sunday night that sent a 39-year-old Chinese male to the Commonwealth Health Center Intensive Care Unit.
The victim, identified as Zu Di Chen, sustained a severe puncture to his right lung.
According to DPS Public Information Officer Cecile Seles, Mr. Chen was riding his bicycle traveling east Sunday at around 9:00pm when an unidentified male from behind pushed him off his bicycle.
When the victim was sent off balance, the suspect then stabbed him on the back area. It was not indicated how many stab wounds the victim obtained from the suspect, who is believed to have used a blunt dangerous weapon.
The Department of Public Safety immediately transported Mr. Chen to the hospital. The Criminal Investigation Bureau is still searching for other possible suspects to the assault.
Where is my rebate?
A former Pacific Islands Club employee filed a police complaint Friday concerning his tax rebate check that was allegedly been forged.
The complainant, Mr. Rainer M. Mamporte, 35, reported to the DPS Central Office that although he now works for Island Apparel, all his mails are still forwarded to his previous place of employment.
According to him, he had waited so long for his $787-tax rebate check to arrive, only to find out last Wednesday that it had already been claimed by means of forgery.
Fire hit house in San Vicente
A house in San Vicente caught fire last Saturday. Police are still investigating what caused the structure to burst into flames.
Reports said at around 2:00pm, a house situated behind the Shell gas station in San Vicente, was sighted emitting a thick cloud of smoke.
Fire fighters were immediately dispatched to the location to extinguish the flames. No fatalities have been reported since the house was found by DPS to be unoccupied at the time the fire occurred.
DPS spokesperson Cecil Seles said a 30-year-old Korean male by the name of Sang Chul Kim owned the property. The case has been forwarded to the CIB Office for further investigation.
