In 1998, Paula Van Ness was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America — an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illness to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

In addition, she has served in national executive leadership roles with the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the National AIDS Fund, and the US Center for Disease Control.

Ms. Van Ness has volunteered with many non-profit boards and committees including the AIDS Policy Center for Children, Youth and Families, United Way, the Lung Association, and Planned Parenthood of Southern Arizona.

Ms. Van Ness graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco.
