WAO holds forum on use of local herbs

The Governor’s Office for Women’s Affairs and CNMI health providers will conduct a forum on women’s health using local herbs on March 8 at the Rota Health Center Cafeteria.

The same seminar will be conducted the following day at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino and again ; and on March 10 at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, Saipan.

The forum will begin at 8:00am with a registration of interested participants, followed with the official opening and will run until 12:00 noon.

The forum will include private and public health providers’ and physicians as presenters on women’s health issues and concerns and will provide recommendations for preventive care using local herbs.

An exhibition of the various local herbs will be on display at each forum site. Pre-packaged samples of selected local herbs will be distributed to participants who will complete the halfday workshop.

Interested individuals who want to participate are encouraged to contact the Women’s Affair Office on Saipan at telephone numbers 288-4102 or 288-7365; on Rota at 532-0421; and on Tinian at 433-4102. WAO is open from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Seats for all the seminars are limited, thus, WAO invites those who wish to participate to register immediately.
