Famous Bible translator arrives on Saipan today

In conjunction with the upcoming Carolinian Dictionary Revision/Translation Workshop, the Carolinian Affairs Office has solicited the assistance of Nico Daams, a renowned linguist and Bible translator who will be arriving on island today.

Mr. Dams is an Associate of SIL, Partners in Language Development (formerly known as Summer Institute of Linguistic) stationed in Australia.

He has done extensive Bible translation work in the Solomon Islands and more recently with the Kapingamarangi in Pohnpei.

The workshop will be held at the Carolinian Affairs Office from Feb. 20 to 23. On the final day, venue will be transferred to the Mafellan Annex of the Pacific Islands Club.
