The Northern Marianas Beauty Pageant Association yesterday announced that applications for potential candidates of the 2001 pageant are due on Friday.

NMBPA is keeping applications open for women from Tinian and Rota who are interested to join. Applications can still be picked up from any of the NMBPA board members.

Because of the distance, potential candidates from Tinian and Rota are given an exception. Deadline for applications and signing of the contract is extended until March 1 at 7:00pm at Halina’s Kitchen in Afetnas Square, San Antonio for Tinian and Rota only. Orientation is also scheduled for that day.

The new board is looking forward to a fresh and exciting show with different ideas collaborated and a whole different attitude.

NMBPA also informs the public that solicitation from any person who is not a member of the 2001 NMBPA or Board Member is prohibited. Solicitation to any individual or business without the NMBPA logo/letterhead should not be honored and considered void.

For any information, contact any of the NMBPA Board of Directors.

Potential candidates must be at least 18 years old and under 27 years of age on or before Feb. 1; must posses a United States passport; has lived in the CNMI for two consecutive years within the last eight years or a permanent resident of the CNMI; never been convicted of a crime or misdemeanor; she is not presently involved with using, taking, selling, or distributing illegal drugs nor is she an alcoholic; never been married and has never had a marriage annulled; never given birth and is not now pregnant; she is not now living with any person of the same sex other than an immediate family member/relative; she is of good moral character within the community; she will not participate in any other pageant without the written consent of the NMBPA Board.
