Sixers, Aces win in 22 and Under Basketball

The APC Sixers and CMS-OL’ Aces last Saturday defeated their respective opponents during the resumption of the Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Islands-22 and Under Basketball League at the NMC Gym.

Behind 13 points from John Sablan and 12 points from Dave Sablan, the Sixers bested the Sunriser to the tune of 54-47. Melvin Tagabuel and Jeremy Sablan had 20 and 13 points, respectively, in a losing cause for the Sunrisers.

With the win, the Sixers were able to keep their unblemished record of 5 wins and no losses. While the loss dropped the Sunrisers’ record to 1 win and 4 losses.

In the second game, the CMC-Ol’ Aces won 71-66 against the Cougars. The Aces were bannered by the 14 points of Ray Suda, with Shane Ogumoro and Jacob Pelisamen contributing 10 points apiece.

The Cougars were led by Ad Arriola with a season-high 29 points and Ed Ariola with 11 points. Next Saturday’s game will feature the Cougars battling the Sunrisers at 3:00pm and the Sixers tangling with Fanihi at 4:30 pm. (MR)
