Organizers are expecting between 40-50 participants in this year’s Club Elan 5 Kilometer Fun Run. The mini marathon will start at 4 pm and the course will originate from the American Memorial Park and will snake through Smiling Cove and the Outer Marina and will head back at its starting point at the American Memorial Park.

“This will be a great day to get outside on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoy a friendly and healthy environment,” Club Elan Fitness Center Recreation Manger Jeff Callahan said.

Those joining the race will be divided into eight age brackets — under 10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and above. The winner of each age bracket will receive a handsome prize from the event’s organizers.

After the race, participants will be given full access to Club Elan’s facilities and amenities. They can use the leisure center’s spas, saunas, steam room, swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi and more.

Awarding ceremonies will start around 6 pm and will be held outside Club Elan, near the Splash poolside bar. There, participants and winners can partake of sandwiches, chips, dips, sushi rolls, pastries, fruit, iced tea, beer, and wine. There will also be a raffle for non-winners during the awarding ceremony.

Club Elan 5 kilometer Fun Run is also being sponsored by the Hyatt Regency Saipan, Verizon, Lite, Gatorade, DFS, Powersport, and AA Enterprise.

Interested parties can contact Club Elan’s reception desk at 234-1234 ext. 25. (MR)
