House Representative Rosiky Camacho yesterday disclosed that funds raised during the recently held Invitational Golf Tournament will be used to train members of the Boy Scouts of America.

At least 73 players participated in the tournament held at the Lao Lao Bay Golf Course which kicked off at 11 am Saturday.

According to Mr. Camacho, the tournament was held to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, and to develop personal fitness.

The tournament was held in honor of Ret. Justice Ramon G. Villagomez who dedicated his life in serving Boy Scouts of America and who has received the Highest Boy Scouts of America Award, the Silver Beaver Award by the Aloha Council.

Proceeds of the tournament will go to BSA’s coffers to fund procurement of supplies and operations of the organization.

In addition, the funds will be used also for the forthcoming Rota Summer Camp where five active troops in the Commonwealth and about 260 boys are expected to participate.

“Our local scouting district will not grow and prosper without the commitment and effort of dedicated volunteers, business sponsors, and community leaders,” said Mr. Camacho.
