Police, fire, and airport response teams hustled Wednesday to tame a fire gone out of control behind the Koblerville Mobil gas station, setting fears the flames could puff up with the fuel depot directly situated in front of the blazing structure.

The fire which began at noon yesterday was only contained at around 4:30pm, police said.

At least one was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a first-degree burn injury, according to police.

The victim reportedly rushed out of the warehouse in flames, while five others at the scene made it safely outside.

The now razed structure was a cardboard factory owned by the United Pacific INV Inc.

The building also accommodated a ten-room barracks that housed six people in every room.

Police reported yesterday the fire started at around noon after the barracks occupants went out for a lunch a break.

Shortly after, one of the workers began to smell smoke coming from inside the warehouse.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. (MM)
