Couple donates to AT Center

Filipino couple Adonis and Josephine Santos donated a used powered wheelchair to the AT Demonstration, Training and Resource Center of the CNMI Council on Developmental Disabilities Assistive Technology Project in Capital Hill.

The powered wheelchair donated by Mr. and Mrs. Santos, of Auto Marine Inc./Fly Saipan Parasail, costs about $3,000, according to the Council.

The donated wheelchair would assist demonstration and training activities extended by the AT Project to consumers, service providers and the public in general. The equipment will also be used for the AT Project’s Loan Program which will be implemented soon.

Mr. Daniel Camacho, Chairman of GDDC; Thomas J. Camacho, Executive Director of GDDC; Celia B. Lamkin, AT Project Coordinator; Arlene Yamagata, Program Officer of GDDC; Reina Camacho, PIP Coordinator; Cynthia Attao, Receptionist of GDDC; Carmela Tamondong, Manager of Healthcare Specialties, were present during the acceptance of the donated powered wheelchair.

The Council thanks Mr. and Mrs. Santos for their contribution to its program. The Council also extends its gratitude to the Healthcare Specialties which facilitated the donation.
