JASTA cleanup drive solicit big support
Over 100 participants, spearheaded by the Marianas Visitors Authority and the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, joined the annual cleanup drive Saturday.
Pacific Development Inc. officer Gordon Marciano said representatives from more than 20 private and public agencies joined the cleanup drive sponsored by the Japan Saipan Travel Association.
Mr. Marciano said the cleanup drive was a success due to collaborative efforts of the HANMI members and other government agencies aiming to keep the island clean.
Agencies that participated in the Saturday cleanup drive were STS, Tasi Tours Ltd., Jalpak, Duty Free Shop, NTA, COP, San Ai Palms, R&C PMT, Hard Rock Cafe, Pacific Subsea, LVMH Loewe, Northern Marianas College, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Grand Hotel, Saipan Beach Hotel, Chalan Kanoa Beach Club, MVA Field Operations, MVA staff, and PDI.
JASTA held a cleanup drive along Beach Road as part of its anniversary celebration. The group picked up litters and debris starting Micro Beach area towards Carolinian Affairs Office.
The group will also plant trees as part of its beautification project.
