New youth center opens

A new venue for learning opportunities officially opened its doors to the public yesterday with the unveiling of the San Isidro Youth Learning Center in Chalan Kanoa.

Community members joined the landmark project’s organizers, including the San Isidro Youth Learning Center Inc. and the Carolinian Affairs Office, in making known to the village’s youths and residents of the creation of a nearby place where educational activities are accessible.

Youth Learning Center Inc. President Adela Kapileo acknowledged the assistance of generous donors who have been instrumental in the realization of the youth project.

“This programs to be offered in this facility encompasses all services from education, to youth recreational activities, to after-school tutoring, and others,” said Ms. Kapileo.

CAO Executive Assistant Frank Rabauliman also recognized the contributions of government and private agencies who have assisted in the completion of the one-storey structure dedicated to the youth.

“We hope to serve the community’s youths by providing them with a place where they can conduct extra-curricular activities,” said the CAO official.

Mr. Rabauliman said various programs to be offered at the youth learning center will include cultural programs as well as school and homework-related services.

Yesterday’s grand opening was attended by Governor Pedro P. Tenorio and other government officials and dignitaries.

The organizers also extended its gratitude to the series of contributions received from various private and public entities. (MM)
